A Trip To The Zoo

Emrie and took the afternoon and headed for the Cincy Zoo. She loves the animals and admission was free today so we took advantage. Here are some of the highlights of our trip. I'll try to post a picture in the not too distant future.

  • Before we even made it to the zoo, Emrie accidentally wet her pants during the lengthy commute so the first thing we did was make our way to the bathroom and pray they had hand dryers. They did and we were on our way, dry pants and all.
  • Emrie got a free disposable camera upon entrance and so she had a blast taking pictures at her leisure. Not only did she take shots of the animals, she would walk right up to people and snap away. A little embarrassing but she loved it.
  • Her favs were the giraffes and gorillas.
  • Far from a highlight...as we made our way through the tropical forest I couldn't believe what I saw. There was a man who I had seen earlier [stoned out of his mind] and he was urinating right out in the open.

On a side note, it's amazing how a simple trip to the zoo can evoke so many emotions. As Emrie and I pulled into the parking lot I was reminded that the last time we visited, Ame was with us. And then as we jumped on 75 South and fought the 5 o'clock traffic I couldn't help but think back to our dating years. I remember many Fridays that I braved the rush hour traffic to see my girl. I didn't care if I had to swim across the Ohio River, I was going to Falmouth. And then as we crossed the bridge I gazed upon the revolving restaurant where Amy and I dined the night I proposed. Every day is a reminder. This is good but oh so painful.

Chad, I heard this phrase in a song that I simiply loved. I wrote it down so that I could remember it. I think that it really applies here.

Memory is one gift of God that death cannot destroy !

Treasure your memories !!!!!!

Love and prayers,
Glenda

I still appreciate the honesty you display here all the time. It's great to hear people I know commenting about how helpful/inspiring you sharing has been to them.

After I proposed, I took Kelly to the Revolving Restaurant as well. I guess we were two like-minded studs . . . and blessed to find women who would tolerate us.

Take care.
