How Great Is Our God

Because of the long day I hadn't planned on making an entry...until I checked my email. More on that in a second.

I guess I have to back up. Yesterday, Emrie had somewhat of a 'melt down' emotionally. It was probably healthy but it broke my heart hear the story. While at her sitters she began to scream for her mommy while reaching up towards heaven. She wanted Amy to come down. She went on sobbing like this for almost ten minutes. When I asked her later what triggered it, she told me that they were baking cookies - something she and her mommy did often. Susan [a friend of mine and also Emrie's sitter twice a week] did an excellent job of helping my daughter through this episode.

Needless to say that kind of emotion can take the wind out of your sails. Last night was a difficult evening for me as I tend to hurt more as I ponder how much Emrie is missing.

I say all of that to say this. When I checked my email tonight, Jen [the wife of one of my best friends, Chris] shared the story that today, while visiting, she overheard Emrie running through the house singing "How Great Is Our God". It lifts my spirits to hear my daughter sing praises to the only One who can heal her broken heart. May she always know how great He truly is.

I pray a lot of times that I am more childlike and come to God and Jesus like a child like Scripture indicates. Too many times I let so many things from my adulthood get in the way of my worship, study and faith.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to be more like Emrie and knowing "How Great Our God is!"

Just wish I could have as good as hair as Emrie.

Thanks for sharing Chad! What true friends you are blessed with. My heart is so full of tears for you and Emrie, and I will continue to pray for that extraordinary strength and courage. Sounds like to me - your time in the kitchen with the recipe box/book is looking more favorable than the arm roast......Happy baking!! and let us all know, how and when your cooking and baking is progressing. Love and hugs, aunt Sandi

I almost forgot, Emrie singing "HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD" reminds me of Amy's CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE; which touched the spirit of many. Is there going to be a tape with the songs played by Kevin and Steve? I have listened to the actual service, and would love to have a copy, if available. Aunt Sandi
