A Lovely Day

I love being around new Christians. They're raw, they're hungry, they're excited, and they can't shut up about it. I dedicate this post to one such friend - Eric Love.

Upon the invite of his sixth grade nephew [go Brady!] Eric showed up at Antioch twelve weeks ago. I'm sure he was scared to death but he's been back every week since, hungrier than the week before. I consider myself blessed to watch a life transform before my very eyes. And it's been a blast getting to know Eric [lunches & fishing]. We've always shared a love for the outdoors [and just didn't know it] but now we share a passion for Jesus!

I posted earlier that this morning's worship service was one of the most powerful and memorable on record, for me. Part of the reason is that I had the privilege of watching Eric get baptized by his brother Lonnie [a friend and staff member at Antioch]. I can't put into words what it was like to see Lonnie lower his brother into the water - a brother he had bathed in prayer for years. And to see the pure joy on Eric's face before and after the baptism and to see the two brothers hug was priceless.

It's people like Eric Love that get me excited to be in the ministry. Give me 10 people like him and we'll change the world.

Congrats my brother. Welcome to the family!

WOW! The Holy Spirit was very present during this service. Congratulations to you, Lonnie, and of course, Eric. I have goose-bumps while reading this. And I can see the smile on your face now. Love, aunt Sandi
