Flat

As a preacher, there are bound to be messages in which, despite all the prayer and hard work that goes into them, they still fall flat. Today was one of those days. I never fell in love with my message. I never felt like I really connected with my people. It was a weird feeling that I would love to never experience again.

What made it tough was wrapping up the first service and knowing I got to do it all over again. I met with Kevin between services and tried to tweek it, and thought it went over better then the first message, I still never felt on my game.

Praise God for next week!

DUDE! Had the same experience tonight, but for some reason I still had an incredible evening. Sometimes life is like that.

**shakin my head at evan**
You know the greatest part about God's word....it always speaks to someone. No worries...I'm sure that somewhere someone got something out of what was said and as you said...Praise God for next week!

Candie is right! My sister rarely goes to church. The one Sunday she decides to visit, the sermon did speak to her. She made comments later that day about it. She and her husband are struggling to make a decision on rather to take a job out of state or if it's best to stay put. I believe hearing your sermon put a new view on things!

I remember those Sundays! Never forget the power of God's word, even when we think it fell on deaf's ear. Never forget God's promises that His word is living and active, sharper than any double edged sword, and that it never returns void! With those promises you can have assurance that someone's life may have changed, their view of God may have changed, and/or their love of Christ may have grown.
Blessings brother!

"And that someone was me Candie." Chad you could talk about the color of the church carpet and somehow something in that conversation would set me back to reality. "It might just have me change the carpet in my house, which might be the only thing I need for a beautifull home." My brother as you have told me many of times. "Give Yourself More Credit."

The messages and lessons that i always seem to think miss the spot are usually the ones that find thier way to someone's heart. I will finish and think, "oh man, that one stunk," and later someone will come up and explain that they felt i was "speaking right to them." God has a way of using our "underachievements" and making them great. I don't know how he does it, but i am thankful that he does.

Well Chad, I was able to listen to your serman today, and it touched my heart and Bill's. We both agreed an A for your report card.

the ME, MYSELF AND I, are necessary to think about, however, in excess, here come the devil. It was a very inspiring message, to dig in God's word for WISDOM.

Your message was great Sunday & it wasn't as flat as you think. I experience just as much out of that message as any of the others you have done in the pass.
