Vacation Update

Emrie and I returned last night from vacation and today it was back to the grind...and a grind it was. Vacations are great but coming back is always rough.

Let me be real honest. I didn't post while on vacation because, well, I was on vacation and didn't feel like it:) It felt too much like work. Hope you understand.

But as I reflect I have to say that my time away was everything a vacation should be. It was relaxing and yet entertaining. I ate a bunch of food, visited with friends and family, watched quite a bit of football, and got to spend some extended time with Jennifer and her family.

On that note; this past weekend, my side of the family had the opportunity to meet Jennifer for the first time. It went great! It's funny. To some extent I feel like I'm back in college or even high school. The nerves that are associated with introducing that "special someone" in your life. Let me just say that I'm glad that is done.

Pray for me this week as the New Year holiday forces me to work from an abbreviate week. They always make me nervous. I'm planning to preach on the concept that we are to shine like the moon (got it from a Salvador song). The moon doesn't emit light of its own. It simply reflects the light of the sun. In much the same way we are called to reflect the light of the Son. Come Sunday to get the finished product:)

Can't wait to listen to the sermon. If the Salvador song will be played, I hope to hear it on your message, hint, hint!

We're praying for you and Em.

I sung a song to Cathy on our wedding day called “Hypnotize the Moon”; if you like I can sing it for Sunday morning’s service. I think Roger can still play the spoons to it.

I just want to know when you are going to let us meet this Jennifer here at Antioch.
