I mentioned yesterday that I may share some funny stories from the last eight years. By far, the funniest story was when Lonnie "double dipped" Matthew Collins.
It was one of Lonnie's (Lonnie is our Minister of Children & Family) first baptisms and words cannot express how nervous he was. I think he even had the words he was to say on cue cards, taped to the baptistery.
Well, the story goes that Lonnie took Matt's confession and immediately dunked him. Well, in our particular church we share the following words before we lower them into the water: "I now baptize you in the name of the Father, Son & the Holy Spirit". Well, Lonnie forgot and so as Matt is walking up the steps to dry off, Lonnie remembers, reaches for the back of Matt's wet gown and drags him back into the baptistery and says, "Hold on! We're going to do this again. We're going to do it right." And he proceeds to do the whole thing over again.
Hilarious story and one we frequent in staff meetings:)

I just wanted to give this one a response cause everyone seemed too concerned about some hair that will grow back eventually.
Chad, brotha, I'm gonna miss the good times with ya...especially on days after UK whooped IU. You know I'll always be thinkin about ya on during those games. You were my youth minister in my last days of being a youth and my minister during my transition into adulthood (which is still going on). You've been there for me and my family along with a ton of other people. Never gonna forget the good times.
