Greenlight @ Greenville

I met with the board at Greenville last night and got the green light. I will preach on both the 20th and 27th of May and at that time the congregation will vote on me. Lord willing, my first day on the job will be June 18th. I can't wait. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and it feels good.

Congrats Chad.... I hope you, Emrie and your new family will find a home at this church. They may not know yet but they are truly blessed. Just as we are to have had you the length of time we did. You changed my life. You may not realize it but you did. You married me and David and had a huge part in bringing David to the Lord. You were there when I lost my grandmother, and when I brought my daughter into this world. I will never forget what you did for me and my family when we needed you and I and my family will miss you.
Best of luck to you

Now what reason can I figure out to be in Louisville over Memorial Day weekend?

I've got an answer for Keith's question...

Because I'll be preaching the following sermon @ Antioch that Sunday:

"What To Do With Church Members & Other Pagans Who Skip Out To Be With The Former Minister On Memorial Day, Thus Crushing The Self-Esteem Of The New Guy"

:)

No worries Chad ! When they hear how you preach they will open the doors for you :)

If they don't you can always come back home to Antioch. We can always have two ministers :)

We will be thinking and praying about you !!!!!!!

God Bless!!!!!

Chad, we are all excited to hear you this Sunday! I didn't get to meet you when you visited, but I've heard nothing but positive comments since your visit. Can't wait to get started working with you! (I am already planning that you will win the hearts of the congregation and will be quickly voted in!)

I can tell by the comments on your blog that Greenville folks have been checking out your sermons on the Antioch website! I am sure you're a shoe in. God bless you. Your smile is missed.

For Evan, don't worry about it, just trying to pump up Chad's confidence.

Being an IU fan and living in Louisville, he needs all the goodwill we can shoot his way. Talk about a double dose of blahs. :) :)

Funny story, on the way home from church last week, Jana made a comment about Chad being gone and my ever observant son said, "Chad's gone??????"

Jana explained the situation and mentioned Evan is our new minister.

Jonah responded with "We have a new minister??????"
