Back To Work

I've been off work for the last 49 days and now it's back to work:) Though today is my first official day, I've been unpacking boxes and getting my office situated for the last two weeks. I've asked Jennifer to decorate my work environment and can't wait to see the finished product. Interior design is a passion of hers and she is very good at it.

It feels somewhat weird as I start a new ministry. So many things I know nothing about, names to learn, leadership structures to figure out. It's rough and frankly, I'm not sure where to start. It takes me back to my first day at Antioch, eight years ago. I was the only one on staff, I had never had a ministry, and I remember sitting at my desk thinking, "Now what do I do?"

Today, it's much different. In many respects, I know the things that need to be done but the question lies, "Where do I begin?" I've been looking forward to spending time with with Barry (my worship leader). I took him out for lunch today and we had a great visit. I totally respect what he does and know I inherited something special in him (praise God!). I think we're going to become great friends.

As far as Sunday's message, I haven't nailed anything down but I'm confident God will let me know soon what He wants me to say. He knows far more about GCC than I do:)

I'm so stinkin' excited about this new start. I feel like GCC is on the verge of doing something big and I'm just glad to be a part of it.

I can only imagine how weird that feels. I remember my first day but it seems in some ways like light years ago. I know one thing, GCC is blessed to have someone with your heart and passion.

I will give you a couple weeks to settle in then I am coming down to take you to lunch.

This new start reminds me of Job.

You have been blessed with so much more family and joy! God and we who love you, HAVE SEEN AND WITNESSED YOUR PAIN AND JOY.

Of course Jennifer has a passion for interior design, she said yes, to you!!!!!!!!!!!!

So happy you are keeping us posted. Sounds to me like GCC, you and Jennifer, are "a match made in heaven". We are so happy for you and your new family.

How is Emrie adjusting? Love you, aunt Sandi

Chad,

First of all, "mazel tov" on everything: the marriage, the move, the new ministry, the new start. I've been following your blog for a while and rooting for you all along. I know your feelings right now: I'm about one month into a new ministry and I'm wrestling with the questions of "where do I begin" and "what do I tackle first?". It's exciting, though, to be in a place with vision and excitement and a desire to serve God; let's hope that we both landed in places that are eager to do God's work!

Chad!
Ready for a voice (words) from the past? I'm so excited for you! New ministry, an instant growing family, same passion for the Kingdom! I finally caught up with the news about you from the Williams. They're at NMCC today for a funeral and I asked about you. Man, it's great to hear how your heart continues to burn for Kingdom things. I knew the first time I met you, Jason, and Flora that God had blessed me with an incredible youth ministry in Ohio. And I'm pumped to see the Kingdom continue to expand!
I'm just up the river from you in Madison. It'd be great to see you and meet the family. Welcome to Indiana!

If Violet is speechless, Lonnie obviously did not get his powers of communication from her as I am pretty sure he has NEVER been found speechless.
