Furtick Blog

I read this blog a few days ago and haven't been able to shake it. It's from Steven Furtick, Lead Pastor at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC. It's worth the read and will make you think.

That is awesome. I think what has happened is that people see Christianity as a form of self preservation. We see a relationship with God as the way that we help ourselves because our reward for submission to Christ is heaven. When we reduce Christianity to what we get out of it we lose the power that God wants to unleash thru us. If Christianity is about what we get then why should we tell others if we are safe in the arms of Jesus. But if we remember that Chritianity is suppossed to be about God and His glory then we understand that success is not measured by our entrance into heaven but by God recieving the glory he deserves.
