This afternoon I was spending some time with the Lord and I wanted to go back and read Philippians 4:8, a passage I have recently memorized to fight temptation. Well, I accidentally turned to Colossians 4 and started reading from the top. I didn't realize I had the wrong book until I got to verse 8 and thought, "That's not what I memorized!" But I decided to read on. Maybe God had something for me.
Boy did he.
My gem for the day came in Colossians 4:12. It says, "Epaphras is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured." I needed to hear that today because I so much want to stand firm in the center of God's will for my life. I want to be mature and fully assured that all my decisions are pleasing to God.
That being said, I'm reminded of the importance of having people "wrestle" for me in prayer. So, if you don't mind, do more than throw up a prayer for me and Em...wrestle in prayer for us. We need it:) Pray that we would stand firm in His will.

You should be feeling all the prayers that have been going up for you and Em. You are at a difficult crosswalk now with all these decisions you are making for your family. I know that a lot of people are praying for you from Antioch :)

I sure know what you mean, the Lord has such a way with WORDS doesn't HE! Actually I was looking to read Col 4:12 and found Thessalonians 4:12, (ha) that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.
I have stopped smoking 3 months now, and was feeling very nasty towards my Dr.
So, I read my daily bible verse, and it was Matthew 5:16 "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and Glorify your Father in heaven. Sure got my attention, that the Lord still wants me to be "nice/kind"...........
As always, we will continue to pray for God's will for you and Em.
Well anytime the word wrestle is used, I immediately think of the NATURE BOY!!!!!!!!!!
